# What the resume optimizer does

> A chat-based editor that tailors your resume to one specific job

The resume optimizer takes your resume and one specific job you've already matched against, and works through it with you line by line to close the real gaps between them, then hands you back a cleanly formatted, ATS-friendly resume and a genuinely recomputed score.

## Where to find it

Open any job you've scored 75% and above or otherwise want to strengthen, and click **Optimize My Resume** above your history in the side panel's result view. It opens as a popup over your [dashboard](https://matchr.in) rather than a new page.

<Note>
  Finalizing an optimized resume uses **5 credits**. Nothing is charged until you finalize, working through suggestions and re-checking your score is free.
